It is a perfect destination for travelers seeking peace, adventure, and an authentic connection with nature. One of the most fascinating features of Lembah Lohe is its vast open valley surrounded by majestic green mountains. Small rivers and natural streams flow through the valley, creating a beautiful landscape that becomes even more impressive during the rainy season. Another attraction is Danau Cinta, or Love Lake, a charming natural lake with a distinctive heart-shaped appearance. Its unique shape makes it one of the most memorable photography spots in the area. Visitors can also explore Danau Merah (Red Lake), Rumah 1, Rumah 2, and Rumah 3, which are recognizable landmarks along the trekking route. The journey to Lembah Lohe is equally beautiful. Hikers pass through peaceful pine forests, challenging mountain trails, green hills, and the stunning Tanralili Lake. Every section offers a different perspective of South Sulawesi’s natural beauty. At night, the valley becomes peaceful and quiet, offering an unforgettable camping experience beneath a sky full of stars. The cool mountain air, flowing streams, and surrounding hills create an atmosphere that is difficult to find in busy cities. It is a hidden paradise where adventure, natural beauty, and tranquility come together in one unforgettable experience.

Day 1: Makassar – Lengkese Registration Post – Tanralili Lake

Our adventure begins at 8:00 AM with a departure from Makassar City. We will travel by private vehicle towards Lengkese Registration Post, the starting point for the Lembah Lohe trekking route. The journey from Makassar to Lengkese takes approximately five hours, covering a road distance of around 50 kilometers, depending on the starting point, road conditions, and traffic. Along the way, you will enjoy beautiful rural landscapes, traditional villages, and the mountain scenery of Gowa Regency. Upon arrival at Lengkese Registration Post, we will complete the hiking registration process, prepare our equipment, and receive a short briefing from our local hiking guide. Starting the Trekking Adventure After registration, we begin our hike towards Tanralili Lake. The first section of the trail takes approximately three hours, passing through several distinctive landmarks and different types of mountain terrain.

The first section is known as Pintu Rimba (Forest Gate), where the trail enters a forested mountain environment. From here, we continue towards the famous Tanjakan 1000 Penyesalan, a challenging uphill section that requires stamina and determination. After completing this demanding climb, we reach the summit of the first major ascent, known as Post 1. This is a good place to rest, catch your breath, drink water, and enjoy the surrounding mountain views. The journey continues downhill, passing a small waterfall before reaching a relatively flat trail along the hillside. Eventually, we arrive at a small stream called Pangalleang Pakua, also known as Post 2. After taking a short break, we continue hiking through a series of uphill, downhill, and relatively flat sections. The trail becomes more challenging as we climb another long hill towards Post 3, known as Puncak Jaringan.

Puncak Jaringan: The Last Mobile Signal Point Puncak Jaringan is an important landmark along the trekking route. It is the last location where mobile phone signals are generally available. Beyond this point, mobile network coverage becomes very limited or completely unavailable. This means hikers should prepare themselves for a temporary digital detox and enjoy the natural surroundings without distractions. From Puncak Jaringan, the trail continues through relatively flat and downhill sections until we finally arrive at the beautiful Tanralili Lake, also known as Post 4.

Camping at Tanralili Lake. Tanralili Lake is one of the most attractive natural destinations along this trekking route. Surrounded by impressive mountain slopes and green landscapes, the lake offers a peaceful atmosphere that makes it an excellent place to rest after a long day of hiking. Upon arrival, we will set up our tents, prepare dinner, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the lake. Tonight, we will spend our first night camping beside Tanralili Lake, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.

Day 2: Tanralili Lake – Lembah Lohe – Love Lake – Camping

After breakfast and packing our equipment, we leave Tanralili Lake and continue our journey towards Lembah Lohe. Today’s trekking route takes us through beautiful pine forests, open grasslands, small mountain streams, and several distinctive landmarks. Post 5: Rumah 1 The first section begins with an uphill climb through a beautiful pine forest. The atmosphere is cool and refreshing, with tall pine trees surrounding the hiking trail. After a relatively short climb, we arrive at Post 5, locally known as Rumah 1. This is one of the recognizable landmarks along the Lembah Lohe route. We can take a short break here before continuing our journey. Post 6: Rumah 2 From Rumah 1, we continue climbing before reaching a relatively flat section of the mountain trail. This flat stretch is quite long and offers a different trekking experience compared with the previous uphill sections.

At the end of this trail, we arrive at Post 6, known as Rumah 2. The surrounding landscape becomes increasingly open, providing beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mountain vegetation. Post 7: Rumah 3 and Danau Merah After leaving Rumah 2, we continue with a gentle uphill climb until we reach Rumah 3 and Danau Merah (Red Lake), known as Post 7. Danau Merah is another interesting natural landmark along the route. The area offers beautiful mountain scenery and makes a wonderful location for photographs and a short rest. From here, the trail continues with another gradual ascent towards the final destination.

Arriving at Lembah Lohe – 1,917 MASL After completing the final uphill section, we finally arrive at the Lembah Lohe triangulation point, situated at approximately 1,917 meters above sea level. This is the highlight of our trekking adventure. Lembah Lohe features a magnificent open valley surrounded by green mountain landscapes. Its wide grasslands, beautiful natural scenery, and small streams flowing through the valley create an unforgettable atmosphere. Unlike the dense forest trails encountered earlier, this area offers a more open landscape where hikers can enjoy panoramic mountain views.

Explore the Beautiful Love Lake One of the most interesting attractions in Lembah Lohe is Danau Cinta (Love Lake), a small natural lake with a distinctive heart-shaped appearance. It is a wonderful place to take photographs, relax, and appreciate the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain valley. Visitors can explore the surrounding grasslands, enjoy the small streams, and discover different scenic spots around the valley. Camping in Lembah Lohe After exploring the area, we select a suitable camping location and set up our tents. As evening approaches, the temperature becomes colder, and the valley becomes increasingly peaceful. We will prepare dinner, enjoy time together, and spend the night under the mountain sky. Tonight is our second night camping, surrounded by the beautiful natural landscape of Lembah Lohe.

Day 3: Lembah Lohe – Lengkese Registration Post – Makassar

On the third day, we wake up early to enjoy the fresh mountain air and beautiful morning atmosphere of Lembah Lohe. After breakfast, we pack our camping equipment, clean the campsite, and prepare for the return journey. We retrace our trekking route, passing Rumah 3, Danau Merah, Rumah 2, Rumah 1, and the pine forest before continuing towards Tanralili Lake. From Tanralili Lake, we continue through Puncak Jaringan, Pangalleang Pakua, and the previous uphill and downhill sections until we arrive back at Lengkese Registration Post. Upon reaching the registration post, our trekking adventure officially ends. We will then travel by private vehicle back to Makassar City. The return journey provides an opportunity to rest after completing this memorable three-day mountain adventure.
